1:1 Learning Technology Program

E3 Engineering Institute

The first class of E3 Scholars graduated in 2016; this three-year Engineering program began in 2013. Through a hands-on, rigorous curriculum that includes coursework focused on engineering, as well as exposure to the field of engineering through program components occurring outside of the classroom, E3 Scholars are intellectually engaged and challenged above and beyond courses required for graduation.  All E3 Scholars must take four years of science and math and 3 years of Engineering courses that culminate in a capstone Engineering project. E3 Scholars are encouraged to take additional courses in CAD, Woods & Metals, and Computer Science.  Finally, each E3 Scholar works with an Engineer mentor, specially trained to introduce students to the various fields of engineering and to engage students in the work they do at their Engineering firm.

Kathleen Murphy Scholars Program

This program meets the needs of our highest performing students to intellectually challenge them in a rigorous course of study, and satisfy their intellectual curiosity through cultural enrichment experiences outside the classroom. KM Scholars are required to take multiple Honors or AP courses each year and attend at least 4 cultural enrichment seminars outside of the school day. The program culminates in a research-based capstone project focused on a topic of interest to the student.  The Scholars work with an academic mentor on the project and present their findings to the school community. The Kathleen Murphy Scholars have an average ACT score of 29.35 and average GPA of 4.09.

College Credit/Dual Enrollment

Totino-Grace participates in the Program for Advanced College Credit (PACC) through St. Mary’s University, Winona, MN.  Students may earn 3 college credits per course in H Intro to Theology, and College Prep Writing, and 4 credits in H Calculus I.  College credits earned are recognized by St. Mary’s University, as well as many other institutions.  More information on the PACC program is available at

Class Rank

Totino-Grace does not rank students; we believe a class rank alone does not reflect the strength, ability and readiness of our college bound students. We believe strongly that a student's transcript, including GPA and course selection, will provide a clear picture of our students’ college readiness and scholarship potential.

Most Totino-Grace students take the ACT exam, starting junior year.  95% of students in the Class of 2017 took the ACT exam, with an ACT average score of 25.  Sophomores have the opportunity to take the PreACT exam which helps prepare them for the ACT exam and gives a predicted ACT score.

Interested juniors may take the PSAT exam; approximately 50% of the class chooses to do so. The PSAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board which serves as the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program; each year 2-4 students annually recognized as National Merit Commended Students or National Merit Scholars.  Totino-Grace does not provide an average SAT score due to the small number of seniors choosing to take the SAT each year.

Advanced Placement
Totino-Grace offers fourteen Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Language and Art.  AP courses give students the opportunity to pursue college-level studies while still in high school and to receive advanced placement and credit upon entering college.
