Developing Student Leaders

A community of leaders, gathered in faith, to serve others.

Totino-Grace offers a number of organizations for students to develop and apply leadership skills throughout their high school years.

Link Ambassadors are members of a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and transfer students and supports their first year experience at Totino-Grace. As role models, mentors, and student leaders, juniors and seniors build relationships with our newest students to help them discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school.  Ambassadors quite simply are the faces of Totino-Grace! These students take leadership roles in welcoming and guiding prospective students and families through the Admissions process through a variety of events. Eagle ambassadors play key roles during our school visits to our partner Catholic grade schools, at Admissions’ Open House events (fall and winter), the Placement Exam, Eagle Games, Middle School Fun Night, our 7th Grade Academic Luncheon, and host students who wish to Experience TG. Leaders will develop and fine tune their leadership skills while guiding new students as they discover and experience the outstanding community at Totino-Grace!   For more information about the LINK Ambassador program, email

National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization recognizing outstanding high school students. More than a mere honor roll, NHS honors those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Totino-Grace has been a member of National Honor Society since 1984. Students can qualify for and apply to join NHS following the end of first semester of their junior year.  Contact Amy Smith for more information.

The purpose of PPLP (Positive Peer Leadership Project ) is to challenge students to make positive choices for the betterment of themselves, their future, and their community.  Members will participate in leadership lessons to improve their leadership skills in addition to supporting community events including trunk or treat, breakfast with santa, and youth teaching youth; alcohol and tobacco decisions & internet safety programs. Information for interested students will be available in the fall. Contact Mrs. Traci Bennington for more information.

The Totino-Grace Respect Life Student Group works within the school community to nurture and sustain a fundamental respect for human life at every stage of its existence and in every situation, from the moment of conception to the point of natural death.  The Respect Life Student Group advances the teaching of the Church regarding the gift of life through education, advocacy and service.

Therefore, the Totino-Grace Respect Life Student Group will:
  • Encourage an appreciation for the value of life at every stage of life
  • Work to develop and disseminate material on pro-life issues
  • Provide material on Catholic teaching regarding life issues
  • Support pro-life events in the Church
  • Participate in the Archdiocesan Respect Life Youth Advisory Council
  • Collaborate and partner with other Totino-Grace student groups such as Justice Forum, Student Government, and Student Ministry

Student Council is an elected body in grades 9 – 12 who work in partnership with the Administration and the students. These students are leaders and role models throughout all aspects of our community.  Student Council is called upon for ideas, input and suggestions throughout the school year.  Two seniors also serve as student representatives on the Totino-Grace Corporate Board.  Student Council representatives develop their leadership skills through planning and executing many community-building events such as dances, Homecoming Week, Winter Week, the Bloodmobile, Prom, and more. Contact Andrew Million with questions or to learn more.

The Student Ministry Team is made up of juniors and seniors committed to creating, offering and implementing worship, formation and service programs for the Totino-Grace community. Student Ministry Team members work in small groups to plan liturgies, prayer services, service projects, mission formation and theme activities. They also lead chapel services before and after school. The key work of the Student Ministery Team is to bring to life our school theme and be the inspiration behind all Campus Ministry programs. The creativity of the students and the talents they bring to this work is what helps Campus Ministry events touch the hearts and minds of the community in a variety of ways. Contact Mr. Andrew Blake, Director of Campus Ministry, for more information about the Student Ministry Team.

SOURCE is a student organization whose goal is to provide opportunities and initiatives for students to celebrate race, culture and ethnicity. Some of our programming will specifically be aimed at students from underrepresented races, cultures and ethnicities, but much of what we offer is available to any student interested in celebrating a culturally rich community. Our goal is to empower students to be active and engaged participants in an intercultural and interracial community. Contact Mrs. Katie Koessler for more information about SOURCE.
