Diversity & Inclusion

As a Catholic high school in the Lasallian tradition, we are committed to welcoming a student body that is academically, economically, and culturally diverse. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing community that places a priority on mutual respect and preparing students for their place in the world community.

The Diversity and Inclusion Program is designed to both support students from culturally diverse groups as well as work with the entire community of students and staff to become more welcoming of diversity and more inclusive of all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, academic ability, sexual orientation, or economics.

SOURCE: Celebrating Race, Culture, Ethnicity

The Students in Action group exists to strengthen cross-cultural communication and relationships across the TG campus and community, dialogue about issues of diversity, and work for social change. The group meets to focus on shared experiences and to celebrate our unique voices within our community. These goals are accomplished through community building, personal reflection, and through outside activities that promote an engagement of our students' race, culture and ethnicity. Students are offered support and brainstorming sessions to develop and strengthen their coping strategies and critical thinking skills needed to thrive at TG, home and their individual and global communities.

Diversity and Inclusion: The Student Experience

Totino-Grace provides many avenues for our students to grow in their understanding of equity and inclusion. Comprehensive programming encompasses the classroom experience, ongoing curriculum and co-curricular review, speakers, grade level retreats and small group leadership experiences available to all students. Totino-Grace's diversity and inclusion efforts are committed to raising the awareness and appreciation of all forms of diversity.

Faculty and Staff Professional Development

Inspired by our Lasallian heritage, our mission is to ensure that multicultural education is embedded within the curriculum and school culture. Totino-Grace offers ongoing professional development in the areas of multicultural education, diversity, and inclusion. Opportunities to all faculty and staff members exist in the form of professional learning communities, small group study, workshops, and a graduate certificate in Culturally Responsive Teaching through St. Mary's University.
