Student Work Study Program

Opportunities are available to all students attending Totino-Grace High School to work on campus during the academic year and over the summer to help offset tuition costs. Priority will be given to students with financial need, but all students may apply and be part of the program.

Requirements:

All student workers that are hired for a position are required to sign the following documents each year that they participate in the program:

  1. A Contract Letter of Employment (This will be emailed to the student when they are notified of their position award.)
  2. Code of Conduct
  3. Justice in Employment 

All student workers that are NEW to the work study program must complete and submit the following paperwork:

  1. Two written reference letters must be turned in by the designated deadline in order to be considered for the work study program.  These letters should be from a school leader/teacher/coach/moderator.  Click HERE for Reference Guidelines.  
  2. Form W-4
  3. Form I-9
  4. Proper Identification as required by Form I-9 (see page 3 of the form documentation for acceptable forms of identification)

Click HERE for the required employment and payroll documents if your student is awarded a work study position. This paperwork must be completed and turned in to the Business Office prior to beginning any work-study position.

All student workers hired for a position are required to sign a contract letter of employment and code of conduct related to their work-study assignment each school year that they participate in the program. In addition, all student workers NEW to the work-study program must complete and submit the following paperwork:

  • Two written reference letters – the first letter should be from a school leader and can be submitted via an online form. The second letter should be submitted to Mrs. Janet Moser. 
  • Payroll forms W4 and I9 with required forms of identification. All required forms, with the exception of the reference letters, will be given to the student when they are offered a position. This paperwork, including reference letters, must be completed and turned in to Mrs. Moser prior to beginning any work-study position.

All student workers are expected to follow the school dress code:  neat, clean and modest.

  • Administrative Office student workers must dress business casual: no shorts or jeans are allowed. No bare shoulders, short shorts, yoga pants, athletic shorts, sweat pants ​or torn garments will be allowed.

  • Office apparel must be professional: ​school uniform/khaki shorts are acceptable, jeans are acceptable. No bare shoulders, short shorts, yoga pants, athletic shorts, sweat pants or torn garments will be allowed.

  • Maintenance apparel is expected to be respectable: shorts are acceptable at a modest length, jeans are acceptable. No bare shoulders or cut up/torn shirts or pants will be allowed.

 

Summer Work Study Positions: 

 

Outdoor Maintenance Crew: ***STUDENTS MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO APPLY*** Students will work with the Grounds staff on various outdoor tasks. This position requires a 5 day a week commitment. Hours will be 8 am-3 pm, Monday-Friday beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Thursday August 9th.

Building Paint Crew: Under the direction of the Maintenance Department, student workers will complete required paint upkeep and repainting of designated areas and rooms. Hours will be 8 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Thursday beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Thursday August 9th.

Indoor Maintenance Crew: Under the direction of the Maintenance Department staff, student workers will complete various tasks in our campus buildings. Hours will be 8 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Thursday beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Thursday, August 16th.  

Administrative Office Student Assistant: ***STUDENTS MUST BE ENTERING THEIR 11TH OR 12TH GRADE YEAR TO APPLY***  Under the direction of the Administrative Office staff, student workers will complete various tasks including filing, answering and directing phone calls, greeting and directing guests, accepting deliveries, sorting mail and data entry. This position requires a commitment of 5 days per week Monday - Friday with possible job sharing opportunity for two applicants. Hours are during the scheduled office hours of 8:00 am to 2:00 pm beginning the week of June 11th and ending Friday, August 10th. It is possible that two students could job-share this position.  (This position DOES require availability on July 2nd, 3rd, 5th & 6th.)

Admissions/Counseling/Marketing/Spirit Shop Office Student Assistant: Under the direction of the Office staff, student workers will complete various tasks including filing, data entry, copying, mail production, research, organizing and other duties as needed. The position will have a pre-determined work schedule with a commitment of three days a week, four hours each day beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Friday August 10th. Additional days will be added periodically for special projects/events. (Spirit Shop inventory will take place on June 11th, 13th, 18th and possibly 20th from 9 am until noon.)

Advancement Office Student Assistant: Under the direction of the Advancement Office staff, student workers will complete various tasks including filing, data entry, copying, mail production and telephone outreach.  (Telephone outreach is non-solicitation-6 hours each week to thank donors and gather updated contact information.) This position will have a pre-determined work schedule with a commitment of 12 hours a week beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Friday August 17th.    

Business Office Student Assistant: Under the direction of the Business Office staff, student workers will complete various tasks including filing, scanning and data entry. This position requires a commitment of up to 10 hours per week Monday - Friday.  Hours can be flexible but must be between 8 am and 2 pm Monday - Friday beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Friday August 17th.

Technology Office Student Assistant: Under the direction of the Technology Office staff, student workers will complete various tasks during the scheduled work time. Duties will vary throughout the assigned work schedule. This position will have a pre-determined work schedule of 8 am to 12 noon Monday through Friday beginning Monday, June 11th and ending Friday August 10th. In addition to the regular weekly schedule, hours will be scheduled for the following events: Eagle Round up, August 2nd from 7 am until 1 pm, Eagle Round Up, August 7th from 1 pm to 7 pm, Laptop Handout Dates, August 23rd and 24th, times to be determined.
